"This is a great, close-fitting pack with plenty of straps to hang things on. It has two side pouches which are great for storing water. The backpack's internal frame make the hike more comfortable and make the pack ride close to your body so that there is no bouncing around. The kelty tempest backpack is 2800 cubic inches and is great for weekend backpacking trips and even day hikes. All the straps make the pack tight and make it so that it won't get hung on trees. It has one long compartment which works very well for stuffing all your things in. I paid only $83.99 for the backpack at the sports authority in Greenville, SC and everytime I use it I love it."

"This is the general-use day pack I've owned. It's a top loader with well designed compression straps that keeps even bulky loads close.
There aren't a lot of loose straps to get snagged on rocks and trees either.
Great pack."

"2900 ci. Very durrable! Very light! The side pockets are very handy. Plenty of straps for hanging extra gear or dirty socks from.
I go light and have used it on a 4 day trip before and it did great!
It's my primary pack and I've been a backpacker for about 15 years. It get's used pretty often.
Only complaint is that the hip belt is not padded. It's only 2" webbing. The most I've had in it at one time was about 24 pounds and the hip belt wasn't even that much of an issue but it would have been better with something more comfortable.
For the price you can't beat it in my opinion. I'll probably get another one if this one ever wears out. Lots of miles and it's still begging for more!"

"My first "technical" backpack. The plastic strap chanels on the bottom split, Kelty fixed for free. I was totally satisfied with their customer service. Have used the pack for hiking, and climbing, it has never let me down. It will be the baseline from which all my future packs will be judged."

"Got it for a great deal of 30% off. It fits really well and feels very comfortable when filled with everything I need. I've stuffed it with a weeks worth of clothes (only a couple pairs of pants and a couple of shirts... who needs clean clothes in the woods?), my sleeping bag, sleeping pad, tent pad, first aid kit and other 'accessories' in the side pockets, tent strapped on the back and a few tools added on top. It does get a bit heavy, but it does its job. Everything is secure.
It's the first true hiking pack I've owned and it's awesome. I plan on using it for every overnight spike I do with the conservation corps I'm working for."
