"This is a good pack for 2-5 day trips and also for thru-hikes. It's an external frame but with a narrower shape so it's not unstable on rough terrain like most externals. It has an interior volume of 5000 cu.in. (divided main compartment plus 4 outside pockets and a top lid with a large compartment). The suspension is comfortable with a heavy load and the hipbelt is excellent-it cinches very tight. The shoulder strap height is very easy and simple to adjust; the straps move up and down with the backpanel. I only wish the pack had at least one water bottle pocket but two would be even better. It's a good looking pack that's well made and suitable for just about any level backpacker, beginner to expert."

"This was my very first backpack. When I first saw it I just had to have it. It is so comfortable I can hardly tell I'm carring anything. I also love all the attachment points on the bag and the frame. I wish they wouldn't have dicontinued it. I agree with there could be a water bottle mesh pocket or 2 on the lower part of the pack, and also I would like to suggest to the Kelty company to utilize all space for instance you could put 2 zipper pockets on the hip belt in front for maps compasses etc. it seems that would be the ultimate place for such pockets maybe in a new pack I hope. I am a Kely fan forever I have several Kelty products in factI just recently purchased the Red Cloud 6650 and again I love it. My hat goes off to all at Kelty good job."
