"Condensation, condensation, condensation! I will never buy a single-wall tent again. The weight is great, until you have to carry an extra pound of water the next day. Well built and roomy for one, but not suitable in humid climates like Michigan. Wish I hadn't bought it."

"I slept in it when it was 20 degrees out and woke up with lots of ice on the inside when my north face bullfrog had no condensation. It keeps rain out but lots of condensation. Super light and easy to set up though."

"I own both a MH Airjet and the Waypoint 1. I used the Waypoint 1 for 6 weeks of solo backpacking this summer was in general was very pleased. It is light, easy to put up and condensation, while present at times, was managable. I took an extra backpacker lightweight towel to wipe out the inside of the tent when condensation formed. I did have a couple of mornings of frozen condensation, but it quickly melted after the sun came out. This could be a problem in winter use however. Overall, it is a great tent and I plan on using it for backpacking trip in the western US. It probably would not be a good tent for eastern backpacking."

"Great tent for our west, get too much condensation in the humid south. This tent is very light and easy to pitch. The lack of a vestibule is missed during rain."

"If you want to get a condensation bath every night, buy this tent. Want to get rained on in the tent without a cloud in the sky, buy this tent. I used this tent on three week long trips befor I learned my lesson the hard way, and the tent landed in the useless piece of shit pile. Rocky Mnt NP (early summer), Wind River Range, and Kings Canyon (late summer). All three trips resulted in getting wet every night; including waking to iceicles on morning on the tent roof and a frozen, cold, down bag after the condensation bathe turned to ice. If you plan on using this tent with temps even approaching the dew point, you WILL get soaked. Even alpine trips as I described above, with very low humidity, resulted in EXTREME condensation inside the tent. BEWARE of this tent, and probably anyother single walled tent."

"I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one having problems with condensation in the Waypoint. I called Mountain Hardware after a soaking wet week in my tent without a cloud in the sky and the rep told me that if you camp near water or where there will be high temperature fluctuations or any humidity then the tent will condensate. I guess I'll camp in my living room from now on. Light and easy to pack though."

"I bought this tent for a 'pack of the Teton Crest Trail last August. I had too much condensation. Would be a great desert tent. On the positive side, it withstood gale force winds when property guyed."

"I have used my Waypoint 1 for summer backpacking trips in the Southern California mountains (San Gorgonio Wilderness mostly). I have not had any condensation problems, but then our humidity is very low.

My goal was to reduce the weight of my tent. Tent plus stakes and poles is 2 lbs 8 ounces."

"I had a single wall Sierra Designs Flash Magic before this tent, and I don't think the condensation is any worse in the Waypoint. I just got back from a trip in Big Sur where is rained through the night. The condensation was there, but I was dry and comfortable. I give it a thumbs up. A good choice for the Sierras, but like (all?) single wall tents, not a good choice for humid conditions."

"Good news and bad news. The good is that this is a lightweight large one person tent. The bad is that it is prone to condenstaion and during a rainstorm in yellowstone me and the contents got SOAKED! Even though it's large for a one person tent it's claustrophobic because the window is so tiny and almost useless due to it,s odd placement. not having a vestibule makes this one of the most miserbla camoing tents around.. I'm getting my msr zoid repired and returning the Waypoint."
