"This pack is the best pack I have have ever had! With around 4550 cu in there is plenty of room for everything. Priced from $280- $320 you just about cant even tell it is there it fits so comfortable. Also with its fully adjustable waist belt there is never a sour spot."

"I've used this pack for several section hikes of the AT. Exceedingly comfortable. I do wish it was a little lighter."

"CONS:Its capacity is a bit small if you're camping for more than two days. The waist belt is stiff and the padding is blocky instead of a flat continuous piece of foam. This causes the weight of the pack to sit on one point of my hip rather than conform to the whole hip. After an hour of hiking with a 25+lb load, my hips are partially numb and in pain. Additionally, the pack is quite heavy without gear in it.

PROS:The top lid can be used as a fanny pack, which comes in handy if you're just taking a quick jaunt. Having two stowaway pockets, one on the inside and the other outside, are helpful for organizing gear."

"This pack is the H1 hummer of packs, compared to the Ospereys which are the Cadillacs.

It is built tough and comes with a suspension system that can't be beat. The hip belt can be adjusted to fit the shape of your hips. The shoulder straps can be adjusted a bit if you grow. The shoulder straps also swing slightly so the pack fits you naturally. The hip belt is made to form with you hips and is made of block shaped foam which will not lose its comfort after heavy use. Packing is easy, but accessing your stuff is even easier with side doors on the newer model, and a front door on the older model. If you do not carry a pack cover, this pack will save your gear. I was caught in an unexpected thunderstorm in the afternoon on a backpack in New Mexico, and none of my gear in the main compartment got wet. This pack is the best you can buy that doesn't way a ton. But there is one downside to owning perfection.

That is the SQUEAKING at the hip belt. I fixed this after a couple months by placing the soft side of sticky velcro against the offending part and has not bothered me since."
