"After using this stove for over six months, and in a variety of climates on many trips, I have found it to be one of the easiest to use and most convenient stoves I've ever owned.
This stove is small enough to be easily packed, yet holds enough fuel to cook several meals easily. It always lights easily and burns very hot. Having a separate fuel tank makes it very easy to pack in a small pack, although I would keep the fuel bottle in an outside pocket to prevent gasoline smells in your clothes, tent, etc.
On really nice feature is the ability to level the burner using the included legs. Another nice feature is an included spare parts kit that has enough parts in it to make simple repairs on the trail.
Overall, this is an excelent stove for the money, as well as an excellent quality and very useable stove. RECOMMENDED HIGHLY!"

"I agree with Dan's assessment of the Apex II. It's very easy to operate and works extremely well on everyday unleaded gasoline. The flame adjustment gives results practically as good as a gas cookstove stove at home. Even with a full complement of fuel, it is surprisingly light. A far cry from the old camp stoves, I also recommend the Apex II highly."

"Stove is not complicated to operate, weight is comparable to other multifuel stoves. I never had a problem getting mine lit and staying lit. Fuel bottle (filled 3/4) of white gas has lasted me three days with gas left over. Legs that are adjustable add stability.

Draw backs? I don't see any with the exception that a wind screen would be a nice addition to the stove...

"I bought this stove for $50, and it has been worth every penny. It simmers better than any other stove I have yet seen. It is also very easy to light, and has a built-in wind guard. It may be a bit bulky, and look dumb, but it is very durable and works pretty good in cold weather. I use gasoline in mine without any problems. I would recommend this stove if you are short on cash, but need a reliable stove."

"The Peak 1 Apex II is an excellent stove. Unlike MSR and many others it comes complete with the burner, service kit and fuel bottle. At twice the price the MSR's don't even include a fuel bottle. Unlike other stoves there is no priming required with this stove and once it's lit it burns as hot as you want it to as the flame is very adjustable. By far this is the easiest stove to light, it has NEVER failed to light under any conditions. I can't tell you how many times I've been camping and I was cooking while others were still trying to get their stoves lit. To me thats saying a lot. Bottom line is that if you need a stove thats bulletproof reliable, stable, adjustable and easy to light there just is'nt a better stove out there. And all this for just $50.00 bucks !!"

"I have used an apex2 sense the first reviews were put on here and love it. I recently went to a jetboil for solo and 2 person trips. but the apex is still on most trips. It even goes car camping with My scout troop for the adults coffee fix. My apex is treated good and in over ten years of use I have not use a single repair part. Just take it apart and clean it every two or three years. I have had a few problems with the one way valve in the bottom of the pump recently, but it has always cooked a meal."
