"This is the best rough trail shoe for my money. Lightweight, but very sturdy providing great stability when carry a load. Deep trail-gripping lugs, waterproof and breathable. After 600+ miles of hiking in the Northeast and Southwest they are quite worn but not dead yet. As for sizing, I went a 1/2 size larger than street shoes."

"The most comfortable boot I've ever owned! Broke in very easy, and I haven't had a blister in these boots yet. The one downside.... tread has worn much quicker then anticipated."

"I'm the equipment manager for a youth outdoor program. The zephyr has been a disapointment as we have had great success with Vasque for the last 5-6 years. The break in is non existant which is wonderful and they look great and do have a very agressive tread pattern. The tread however wears faster than other Vasque boots we've used in the past and we've had lots of problems with the toe of the sole coming off as well as some minor stiching problems. The midsole also breaks down rather quickly with only minor abrasion. Our students by no stretch take good care of their equipment but this particular model has proven less durable than past models that are no longer manufactured and has left me testing other brands to see if it's time to switch."

"I work on commercial construction sites and am now in my second pair of the Zephyrs. VERY comfortable, much more than your typical work boot. As I've read with other reviews and with both pairs that I've owned, the tread wears very quickly. Very supportive, light weight and besides the tread, are very tough boots. I will buy a third pair."

"Lovin' my Zephyrs! As everyone says, instant perfect fit, light, and good looking boots to err...boot! A little pricey, but what good pair aren't? Buy Them!!"

"I have had my Zephyr boots for 3 1/2 years and am pleased with their performance. They have excelled in muddy, sandy, rocky, wat, and loamy conditions. They were comfortable right out of the box and have never given me a blister, leaked, or failed to give great support. Make sure, as with any hiking shoe/boot, that you get properly fit because this is a high volume boot. Improper fitment will cause blisters and/or serious problems with any boot. Vasque makes excellent quality boots for a variety of foot types so if the Zephyr doesn't fit you right try another, you will be pleased."

"I was really disappointed with these boots. While the upper is pretty soft out of the box, they never seemed to break into my foot. They always folded and pinched in awkward ways, giving me blisters even after 2 years. On the other hand, the sole is great on the trail. For streets and hard ground, the heel was a little too square for me and didn't roll as I walked. Overall, I probably won't buy another Vasque after the experience."

"I have had this boot for less than a year, i trek steep ROCKY mountains.
Very roomy forefoot, no break in period, very supportive, confident, great good looking, i like it very much; Its all excellent BUT the only downside is that the treads are going fast; We should compare how another boot stands those rocky steep places....."
