Tom Nelson, 11/12/04 User Rating:
"I bought these hiking boots at Cabela's in Hamburg, PA. The service was phenomenal. They did not have my size in stock. They shipped the boots to my house at not expense to me. At only $39, they are an exceptional value.

They are not waterproof; they are a little heavy; they provide superb ankle support. Coupled with an inexpense insert, these boots provide all the cushioning needed.

I carried a pack weighing 38 pounds for a week long backpacking trip in the Wind River Mountains in Wyoming this past August. They were perfect.

I have had the pair for almost a year now, and they are comfortable and are holding up very well around the house and on many short day hikes.

I would buy another pair of Cabela's boots without hesitation.

As always Cabela's provides the best and most complete customer service of any outfitter I have dealt with.

Great value for the boots!"

"These are the best value I have found in hiking boots. They are not waterproof, but they are lightweight, quick drying and have excellent ankle support. The cushioning is perfect for the load I carry (25-35 pounds depending on length of trip).

The pair I own has served me very well for almost a year of heavy use, and seem like they will last many more years. I bought them (not on sale) for 39.95 from Cabela's website.

They also have gore-tex waterproof boots in the Trail Lite Hikers model. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair.

Great value."
