"The Cabela's boots I got are basically a copy of a Merrell boot and just as good at about half the cost, with one exception. The Cabela's footbeds are junk, even for around the house. You will need to get decent footbeds, especially for the trail. Superfeet, Montrail, or Spenco Backpackers are good choices and cost about $30 per pair."

"I'd love to review Cabela's boots as well. Problem is, the service was horrible.

They opened up a huge new Cabela's about an hour from my house in PA.

6 salespeople stood around. The one that I asked for help helped me, and the 3 other customers at the same time while the other sales people stood around.

The shoes are in the back, so you need somebody assisting you to try them on.

Sorry this isn't a "boot" review, but I am very disappointed we wasted our time.

We eventually walked away from the salesmen the same as he did us."

"OK, everybody. I feel sorry for you. Here's a revelation. You don't need Asolo or Salomon. Any of Cabela's hiking boots are the best I've ever used, bar none. They've got Gore Tex for about eighty bucks, and Cabela's makes 'em to last forever. Don't spend $200 anymnore. Just buy Cabela's Blue/Gray canvas boots and get on with it."
