"Bought this tent primarily because it offered the best availble compromise in its price range for lightness, compactness and weatherworthiness. The tent has now fully proven itself to be an excellent solo backpacking tent even in harshly wet conditions(recently, while the area I was hiking in was under the effect of a weather alert because of heavy thunderstorms,I stayed perfectly dry inside!).

Setup is easy, roominess is OK for a solo hiker, ventilation perfect and the fly very rain shedding.

So far can't really report on its wind and snow loading stability(will be verified this winter so I'll bring extra feedback by next spring).

Yes,it's an A-Frame but as Colin Fletcher said in The Complete Walker:«They(A-Frames) may have become ol' hat but in wind driven thuderstorm or in weatherbeaten places such as Alaska they remain popular because nothing protects as an A-Frame»(The quote is not litteral but that essentially what he said and convinced me of the undying reliability of A-Frames.Anyway,Backpacking is not Moutaineering and weather protection,in the end,is all that counts when buying a tent). So,yes,I strongly recommend this tent but for solo users only(it's way to small for two!)."

"I bought this tent primarly because of the weight, 4lbs. 15oz (pack wgt.). Which is good for a "2 person" tent and the price around $130. However, I would not want to put 2 people in this tent unless you know each other very well. I can not see this tent being practical for 2 people riding out a stormy day. But for one person the room is adequate. The vestibule is large enough to hold your pack and boots out of the weather. I do think you get more usable space in a similar size dome tent, but they usually weigh more. Set up is easy and fast. Ventialation is fair, I get a good bit of condensation on cold winter nights. I have not yet been caught in any heavy rain with this tent so I can't speak to it's waterproofness. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best, I would give this tent an overall rating of 3 1/2."

"The tent needs more room if you plan to sleep 2, but it still works. More headroom would also be nice but you sacrifice room for weight so it all works out in the end. The tent is a good buy but for a little more you can get the apex which has 2 doors (a major plus) and much better ventilation."

"I utilized this tent during an unexpected winter storm in the WV mountains. The wind driven rain turned to about a ten inch snow. The tent held up well. There were two people in the tent, one being a smaller person, and there was adequate space. Rain protection and wind resistence was excellent."
