"Nunatak makes lightweight down bags, jackets, and accessories. While its website lists stock products and sizes, customization is common, even encouraged. The customer selects fabric from available inventory, then the item is sewn and filled with 800+ down. I sleep cold and ordered six ounces of down overfill. The BCB is a roughly rectangular down quilt with Velcro strips along both sides. I use it as a blanket in warmer weather, then close it up with the Velcro and cinch cords at the head and foot for a cozy semi-rec sleeping bag when it approaches freezing. Adding a down sweater makes it even more versatile as a sleeping system. Bag and down are top-quality, as is construction, though Nunatak's fabrics tend to favor light weight over durability, and my spinnaker ripstop bag definitely isn't downproof. It's really light though - even with the overfill and six extra inches of length mine weighs just over two pounds. I've slept in it at 28 F (-3 C) and was comfortably warm. Highly recommended! And I encourage any ounce-counting camper to examine Nunatak's range of even lighter weight sleeping bags. Be prepared to wait a bit after ordering to get your bag as products are made to order and this is a small (though thoroughly professional) operation. Prices reflect the high quality and custom tailoring."
