Moonstone Optima 3D Review

"If your'e looking for a warm, versatile, do-everything, bed for all
seasons,consider Moonstone's OPTIMA sleeping bag.This ultra
warm,roomy cut mummy is well designed and built to last long. It
uses Hoechst-Celanese brand new Polarguard 3D, a finer,lighter
and loftier version of the tried and true fill which the continuous
filament,hollow core Polarguard has always been!The outer shell is
made of taffeta nylon(altough DryLoft is available with most of
Moonstone's bags) and is also available in regular or long
sizes.Out of many noteworthy featrures, the OPTIMA
includes:draft tube and draft collar(of course!),trapezoidal foot
section,more fill on top than bottom(where your need is the most
but implying that you'll use a ground mat.....of course!), multiple
layers of fill,vertical ground level seams,etc. On its own thi! s
3-season kept me very warm on multiple outings such as in New
Hamshire's famous Mount Washington, but best of all, this 15°F
can easily be made an all-seasons bag by adding an optional
"Advanced concept liner"- made of Down or Polarguard 3D-
which improve the bag's temperature by 25 more degrees,
bringing it to a somehow respectable -10°F. So if you want

"No complaints except that it took awhile to find a store who carries this stuff where I live(Texas). This is my second MS bag and the one I use the most. Rated at 10 degrees faren. I know I've been to just below zero a few nights with no chills but I wear light thermals at night so that helps. It's so versatile I might shelf my older -10 degree down bag.
