"I got my Wave as a graduation gift back in 2004 and I absolutely love it! I carry it with me at all times; in my pack, my saddle bags, even my purse - something that used to get a lot of laughs from the other girls I worked with (in an office) because I was always whipping it out ad fixing stuff. Thus far I have had no issues with my knife at all, it's been extremely reliable, tough, and handy. My husband has the newer model of the Wave - the one with the locks for all the interior tools. He is a mechanic and uses his Wave constantly and for pretty rigorous applications but it has held up very very well for the 2+ years he's had it. The only problem he has encountered was when one of the new-style locks broke which didn't effect the use of the interior tools but they just didn't lock anymore. He is in the process of sending it away for warranty, something that Leatherman is excellent for. They really stand behind their products, and they make great tools. I highly recommend the Wave. "I presently own four Leathermem (yes I put it in the plural form) and love each one. As for the Wave I bought it about 98/99, not quite sure, anyway it is my staple for EDC. The Crunch has to be my 2nd favorite. I did slightly mod the Wave, the needle-nose end of the pliers seem to flex when I put them under a heavy handed squeeze, so put them to a grinder being careful not over heat the tip so not to mess up the temper. Now they work great and really hold the clamp without the flex. I believe that it beats the Gerber Multi-Tool hands down."

"It is the standard that all other multi-tools are measured by.

(Except maybe the new Charge TI.)"

"I have had mine since the day it came out back in '99. It has never let me down. I have used it in almost every application. You can torque right down with the pliers and the handles don't feel like they will fold under pressure. the nice pieces are the one handed blade selection on the outside (less searching in the dark, rain, or cold) The only gripe, small blood blisters from the wierd angle of the closed pliers, on a slipped bolt here and there. I have to say it was the best gift I have ever been given, just remember... it's does no good in the top of the dresser
Oh yea, it has a break in period like a good pair of LaSportivas, but afterward it works like a brooklyn switch blade."

"excellent knife! I've used it for damn near everything. it especially came in handy when I moved and packed all my tools but I was wearing my wave so that saved me from a lot of headaches. in the military I use it in the field without any problems, in any weather!! no rusting, easy to clean, and sharp. just wipe it down every so often with water based protectant like bicycle wax. it doesn't collect dirt and keeps it lubed/rust free"

"I love my leather man it is the best knife i ever bought. It gets a little rusty. But has great locks. The blades come extreamly sharp from the factory. The pliers never lock or slip same with the scissors.
to sum it all up this is a great knife."

"I bought a leatherman wave before I went on my Semester Outward Bound course and it rusted up really bad. Mine was not the only one that rusted up either. I wiped it down atfer every use and it still rusted.
Other than that it was a good product."

"As a mostly Swiss Army knife type, I enter this because this is a great tool, especially for fishing. Its greatest features , are IMHO, the single handed ability to open the knives, and the very useful plyers with a contoured comfortable grip. This tool seems more geared to mechanical applications, with several screwdrivers, but it does have a saw, good locking blades and scisors. I have found this multi tool easy to use, without the two handed fooling about so common with others."
