"Solid, close-fitting boots, with a clima-dry bootie (because of seams, however, I highly recommend Nikwaxing with the Fabric/Leather formula!). Mine are extremely comfortable, post-break-in, which was
only about 30 miles. I spent the extra dough to get custom superfeet footbeds, which hasis making a tremendous
fit difference for me. The front of the contagrip sole has a "rocker" effect built in, which helps roll each step forward.
I like the saddle-shoe styling. This boot could use a little more padding
under the ball of the foot, but otherwise is very comfortable. Durability after 50 or so trail miles is
still good. I'm diggin 'em!"

"I am on my second pair of these boots and they are the best thing going. On a 4,000-foot descent from Mt. Elbert, everyone except the persons wearing these boots got horrible blisters on their toes. The plastic "saddle-shoe wrap" keeps your feet in place and secure. For those that complain that the boots squeak, rub a little bar soap under the plastic and the aqueak will stop. I recommend these highly, even for limited winter trekking."

"I bought these to serve as a regular winter boot about two winters ago. Since then I have worked outdoors in them, hiked, and just generally kicked around town. The virtually break themselves in. Super-comfy, plenty of support, and great warmth for such a sleek boot. Durable too. They also have a proprietary substance in the insole that molds to the shape of your foot after the first hour of wear, then sets itself. A nice little custom-fit feature."

"These boots are some sweet stuff. I recently bought these at Cabelas in Kansas City. These are the kind of boots that would be good for mountaineering. Fully reliable and a great looking. They have excellent foot support and grip alomost antything you would trek on."

"Well it's been a few years now that I have been giving these boots a sever beating, and they are still performing very well! I have gone on numerous day trips with them, and just recently a very long backpacking trip, and they were comfortable and my feet were blister free the entire time.

The best thing about these boots: The support is phenomenal. Some of my friends and i ran virtually the whole way down a mountain with packs on and the trail way very rough and uneven. I kept worrying that i was going to fold my ankle over at any moment, but the boots prevented any sort of rolling of the ankle. Very impressive.
Also these boots are completely waterproof. After waterproofing the leather very thoroughly, you can stand in ankle deep water for a long time without getting the insides at all wet (yes i did try it).
These boots are also very tough. after walking on sharp scree and razor sharp slabs, the boots still don't wear! I only have one rather long "gash"...more of a big scratch, on the leather toe of one of the boots, but otherwise they look like new still. To beat them as much as i have, and to only have one scratch is quite imprssive i think.

The bad thing about these boots: WHY O WHY IS THERE ZERO CUSHIONING!!!! after walking a 25 km day through the back country the bottoms of the feet get pretty tired....this is mainly the insoles fault...as someone else said, they are a thin as crackers. I am going to be trying to find some thicker insoles soon, cause then these boots would be the ultimate.

I LOVE THESE BOOTS! I LOVE HOW THEY SQEAK TOO.....THAT'S COOL!"

"Great boots overall. My toes don't have quite enough space in them, and they are quite stiff for light hiking, but they survived Isle Royale's rocks and a trip to the porkies very well and without any blisters."
