"I bought this backpack in the spring, 2002 after reading the article Backpacker Magazine. I went on a trip with my two sons ages 13 and 10 to the Cirque of the Towers in the Wind River Range, WY. This pack was extreemely comfortable and I was able to adjust the torso length quickly and easily. My onle complaints are the small pockets for water bottles, etc. and the number of pockets (too few). I had to sinch these down as they aren't very deep. This was just a three day trip but with the extra fuel and food I was carrying the pack was full. Half way in I ended up attaching my 10 year old's day pack to mine as he was complaining about the weight and was falling behind. With even the extra weight of his pack (problably only an extra 10 lbs. but as you know any extra weight is a pain)I was cofortable hiking. I liked the design of the front pocket-easy access to maps. Highlight of the trip was summiting Mitchell Peak with my 10 year old the next day. I give this pack a 4 as opposed to a 5 only because of the less than desireable side pockets."
