Description
One of my favorite places ever with fond memories as a child. Lake is very cold but awesome after a hot summer hike. Well worn trail, some steep trail edges but a 'do-able' family hike. Long way up with a short traverse down to Snow Lake. Continue to Gem for a secluded cliff overlooking snow lake. Beautiful spot to camp. Gem lake is not too far beyond but tends to be a slightly disappointing pond full of mosquitos. Maybe early in the spring would be the right time of year to visit Gem. (yeah, they call it gem because of the green fungus all around water) Rangers walking the trail at least 2 times a day.

Directions to Hike
Alpental Ski Area top of Snoqualime Pass off I-90. Overnight parking in Ski Area Parking Lot. NE corner of lot is trailhead.
