Description
A great level hike. This was probably the highlight of my trip to Olympic in 2005. The hike to and from the coast is along a boardwalk and is an extrememly cool walk. You'll cover it in no time. The coastal walk is wonderful. The beaches in the part of the state are about as wild as it gets. They are more narrow than the southern beaches and you're probably more likely to see wildlife. You will have to cross a couple of headlands due to tides. I would also recommend some GoreTex Gaiters to keep the sand out of your boots.

If you're visiting ONP and have the time at all I would strongly recommend this hike. It's one to remember.

Directions to Hike
From Port Angeles head west to Sappho then north to the coast. Signs will guide you right to the ranger station. It's probably a little more than an hour's drive from Port Angeles. Check the maps located at the National Park Service web site for ONP.
