Description
A moderate hike into the Alpine Lakes Wilderness region of the central Cascades. This 5 mile round trip trek will climb through old growth forest with portions looking over Talapus Creek. It's a little over a mile to Talapus Lake and then about another mile or so to Olallie Lake. This is great in spring and nice in summer and fall. Total elevation gain is 1132' over 2.5 miles.

Directions to Hike
I90 east from Seattle to Exit 45. Follow FS Road 9030 and continue bearing hard right when reaching the fork with FS Road 9031. Stay on 9030 which makes a hard right. 9031 continues straight. Drive to the end of 9030 to the trailhead. Greens Trails Topo #206 Bandera

Free Day use permits available at trailhead. Overnight permits are limited and available at the Ranger Station. Tel. 888-1421
