Description
Did winter snowshoe hike on Jan 3, 2009. First half to two-thirds of ascent was icy crust with 2" snow. Once reaching the Knee Outlook, mostly fresh, untracked snow to junction with Windsor Trail, then packed snow to summits.
Ascent required careful footing after Norcross Quarry, where trail gets steep. Descent from Lookout to Quarry requires careful footing.
Took 3 hrs for ascent and approx 1hr45min for descent. Beautiful day...beautiful views, Mt. Ascutney always a moderate to strenous hike, regardless of trail taken
