Description
follows St. Mary's River...highly degraded and in need of very much trail work. A great place to get robbed by local automobile burglars..(just happened to me!). Sadly for you, the US Forest Service does not care about the rampant break-ins and larcenies that regularly occur at their trail heads as compared to the much more sexy timber tract auctions and clearcuts. Just ask a USFS Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) for help -- if you can actually find one.

Directions to Hike
from I-81, take Steeles Tavern exit west to Rt. 11. Turn left onto Rt. 11 North, then immediately onto Rt. 56 East. Turn onto Rt. 608. Turn right onto Forest Road 41 and follow to the end. The parking lot is the trailhead. Just leave your car doors & trunk open so that you won't have to worry about your doors being sprung open with crowbars and such. Enjoy!
