Description
The first 200 yards is pretty steep as you pass the homes then there is a deep gully with a bridge and stream where you can catch your breath and decide if your really ready to hike today. Steep again as you climb east out of the gully and up on the ridge another 2-300 yards and your at the Lower Bells Canyon Resivour. Follow the road around the north west side and then continue up the road east into the canyon. For the next mile or so the trail is much more relaxing and scenic. There is a bridge just a little ways into the canyon with some big bolders in the area to sit on for a snack or lunch. With pre-teen children this is a good spot to stop and go back. With a 30 minute break we were back in our car after about 2 hours.

Directions to Hike
From I15 in take the 90th South Exit East and follow it several miles it will dog-leg south and become 9400 South but keep heading east to the light at Wasatch Blvd.(about 3600 East). Take a right at the light heading south. Drive about 1/4 mile (watch for sign) to the paved parking lot on the east side just as you round the bend. The trail begins at the north end of the lot and follows a right of way between some nice homes. Please be courteous and respectful of the privacy of the residents there.
