Description
3 day/2 nights From Lee Pass TH(6085') into the Kolob Canyons of north Zion NP along La Verkin Creek. Terrain from high desert to lusher canyons. Lots of hill work, big and small (2 mph in good shape). 8 miles in to Beartrap Canyon. Overnight as close to the mouth of BT canyon. Its worth a 1/2 day to hike from the canyon floor to the dead end 2 miles and 1500' up. A lot of rock scrabling is required, bring only lunch and water. Move back toward the arch for the 2nd night. The return trip ends in a grueling climp back to Lee pass, save yourself the trouble and arrange a pick up at the Hop Valley TH.
