Description
Coming in from Little Cottonwood Canyon vs. coming in from Big Cottonwood Canyon is a faster route to the major peaks that offer the awesome views everyone comes in for. From here you can bag Sunset peak, special treat for locals on a Full moon. Aside from the elevation gains, this is a fairly easy hike with just enough terrain change to check out your skills. From loose rock to sand in exposed and wooded trail. Very cool.

Directions to Hike
A longer route through the Brighton Ski Resort in Big Cottonwood approx. 15 miles up the Canyon to the begining of a 1 way loop road. A shorter route for views of Catherine\'s Lake from Catherine\'s pass and views of other lakes including Silver Lake from Sunset Peak is to come from the Albion Basin, in Little Cottonwood Cyn. about 11 miles in from the mouth of the canyon. The last 2 and 1/2 miles is unpaved but you can drive your sedan in good weather. The first parking lot is for the Catherine\'s Pass trailhead. The second for a campground in this area.
