Description
This is a great trail that that introduces one to desert hiking and orientation. The views of the rugged landscape are incredible and varied. The silence in the desert wilderness is like nothing I've ever experienced (hence the name of the trail). We saw various species of lizards, pronghorns, and ground squirrels on the hike and in the area. The hiking is not difficult, but you need to keep your wits about you because it is easy to lose the trail in a couple of places. If you're not used to hiking in this sort of terrain, it's not a bad idea to take along a decent map and compass, even though the trail is short (about 3 miles). Also, bring water.

Directions to Hike
This trail is on the Utah side of the park. Take the main road from the Dinosaur Quarry east towards the Green River Campground. The trailhead will be on the north side. It's hard to miss, as there is a small parking area and a sign.
