Really nice hike but trail maintenance needed.
Nice scenery along trail and halfway point has permanent shelter along Walnut Creek. Pine and hardwood forests with some dirt road hiking close to private property. Good for a night or two.

Directions to Hike
3 miles north of Weches, Tx. close to Caddoan Indian Mounds off of Hwy 21. Look for turnoff to Neches Bluff Overlook (north terminus).
South terminus at Lake Ratcliff State Park on Hwy 7, 22 miles west of Lufkin.
