Description
First 7 miles is an easy trek. There is a primitive campground 5 miles in. Very well traveled trail. THEN..be prepared you will pay for that easy trek. The next 5 miles is streneous, there is several creek crossings and a place where you have to swim around a rock face or hike up a rocky hill to get around. NO trails marked, just finger trails that has been left by others. There are 2 primitive campgrounds.

Directions to Hike
To reach the west TH, drive south on the wildlife loop rd.to Blue Bell Lodge, a total of 20 miles. From here take Custer State Park rd. 4 (gravel) east for 3 miles to the TH. You drive through a horse camp.There is also the east side of French Creek which will bring to by Norbeck Vistor Center.
