Description
This hike is 2.1 miles one way. It starts at the beginning of the Foothills Trail. I found it on a local website and was not to happy with the strenuous rating. The trail is mostly downhill going in accept for the last quarter mile which climbs the final ridge to the knob. I think a moderate rating is more appropriate. The trail offers good winter views of the blue ridge mountains and from the knob you get an exceptional view of Whiteside mountain to the north. Round trip takes about three hours. It's not bad for a quick getaway.

Directions to Hike
From Greenville S.C. travel north on hwy 276 to hwy 11 (cherokee scenic highway). Take hwy 11 wets towards Walhalla from there take hwy 28 north to hwy 107 and follow the signs to Oconee State Park.
