Description
This great loop includes part of the famed loyalsock trail (LT) and the link trail, a side trail to the LT. don't confuse this link trail with the other in southcentral PA. I suggest you start at US 220 to include the awesome Haystacks Rapids. Follow the LT pass dutchman falls and downstream to the Haystacks, with great camping in an awesome location. the trail climbs to an old RR grade and eventually descends back to the loyalsock creek. here follow the link trail downstream through beautiful pine and hemlock with nice campsites. the trail climbs to PA 154 and returns to the creek. you will pass flat rock and pool along the loyalsock, a very beautiful, sizable stream.

Cross PA 154 and ascend the plateau along shanenburg run. trail levels off, passes through glades and a few small streams. you will arrive upon canyon vista and the rock garden. the vista is beautiful as it overlooks worlds end and the loyalsock canyon. follow the link trail down to double run with waterfalls and cascades. the trail crosses PA 154 and follows ledges along the loyalsock in worlds end. cross the creek and begin a steep, rocky ascent up to high rock falls and vista. you are now following the LT again, but back to US 220. the trail ascends the plateau, passes alpine falls and scenic sones pond with camping. the trail descends back to the loyalsock where you first met the link trail, return the way you came.

this is a great weekend hike with lots of scenery.

Directions to Hike
the loyalsock trailhead is along US 220, about 3 miles north of laporte. worlds end state park is along PA 154, 2 miles from forksville and 7 miles from laporte.
