Description
Trail represents the western terminus of the Loyalsock Trail (LT). From the parking area, follow the LT down to a former RR grade. Off to the left is beautiful Dutchman Falls. The LT eventually leaves the grade and descends to the Loyalsock, where it follows this beautiful creek. You will soon reach the Haystacks, a boulder reef over which the Loyalsock swirls and tumbles, there are 2 plunge pools and a whirlpool. This is a Class IV-V rapid during periods of high water. A great place to swim and scramble on the boulders. Also offers one of the most scenic camping areas in the Mid-Atlantic.

Directions to Hike
From Williamsport, follow US 220 through Laporte. After about 2 miles, you will see a sign for the LT's trailhead, turn left onto Meade Road to parking area.
