Description
Roaring run natural area contains 4000 acres. There are 5 intersecting trails within the area making it possible to plan several loop trail hikes of varying lengths. The area is mainly deciduous forest and encompasses the lands surrounding Roaring run which cuts a deep gorge through the area. The trails are gentle to steep. There is a beutiful vista from a rock outcrop into the gorge along painter rok trail. Excelent trail maps including topo are availible from the district ranger.

Directions to Hike
From Donegal take Route 31 East and turn on the fire tower Road near the summit of Laurel Ridge. This road is the Eastern boundary of the natural area. There is parking about 3/4 mile down the road with a trail head for the Laurel Highland trail which also goes through the area.
