Description
The STS is an 85 mile loop trail in North Central Pa. between Denton Hill (north) and the town of Cross Fork (south). The trail is marked by orange blazes, and at trail or road crossings by the STS emblem. The trail consists of some steep climbs (or decents depending on travel direction) Ex. north to Cherry Springs Fire Tower, south out of Ole Bull, and both directions out of Cross Fork (just to name a few). Points of interest would include the Cherry Springs Fire Tower, "The Pool" in the Hammersley Run Wilds Area (great for swimming), "Spook Hollow" south of Ole Bull , and the many wonderful vistas throughout the trail (again just to name a few).

Directions to Hike
The Northern Gateway is on Route 6 near Denton Hill. The Southern Gateway is on PA 144 near Ole Bull State Park. Cross Fork is about the halfway point, and the only town on the trail. The trail also crosses numerous access roads which can give access to more specific areas of the trail.
