Description
Nice loop hike more scenic than the Worldwalker. There are some common short cuts which leave parts of the regular trail little used and over grown. Trail is also being invaded by horses (supposed to be backpack only). There are two heavily used designated camp areas and a few good illegal sites. Site 2 has a great view on a hill overlooking the lake but is full of trash. I would not stay in the shelter. Site 1 is the best and has quick entry to the trailhead parking by way of the Worldwalker trail. The shelters here are better cared for. The most heavily used parts of the trail are close to quick access areas by the old roads. Over look these areas and life gets better. There are just enough good veiws of the lake in the winter (not hunting season) and features reminiscent of what the park was like before the lake was made that make it worth while. Water is available through the lake and streams but do treat as you're in an agracultural area with horses (nuff said). This is more for the hiker who lives close to Cincinnati and wants to make a last minute backpack trip. It has it's moments, but if you make it a second time you will be frustrated by horses and neglectful people. Still it is what it is.

Directions to Hike
From Cincinnati, take I-275 to exit 65, which is SR 125. Follow the signs to East Fork State Park.
