Description
A fantastic short overnighter
or long day hike, Mt. Whiteface
offers terrifuc views of NH's
White Mountains. The hike gains
approximately 2500 feet in
elevation over 4.5 miles. At
times the trail can be technical,
especially in the early summer
and late fall, but is usually
not too bad. For an added challenge
hikers can attempt this hike in early
to mid May when snow is still
prevalent. Views from the summit
are spectacular and well worth the
hike. The summer is not restricted
so camping there is a rare treat.

Directions to Hike
Follow NH's route 16 north
to the town of Chocorua where
you can pick up 113 west. Follow
only a couple of miles until you
reach 113A and go north approximately
4 miles. After passing a stunning
open field and a white church on
your right, turn right into the
Ferncroft area (dirt road). Parking
is available at no charge.
