Description
This is a great hike. It takes you by a few creek beds and a wide variety of plant life. During the spring when everything is in bloom is the best. The slope varies but the difficulty level is moderate. The trees provide lots of shade and we even spotted a few campsites along the route. The best part of the trail is the actual profile viewing point. There's a sign that points out the shape of the grandfather's face. Once you've reached the top, there's a real sense of accomplishment and the hike back down goes by much faster and easier.

Directions to Hike
Head south from Boone on 105 for a couple of miles. There are signs and parking, just make sure you have a permit for hiking.
