Description
Just hiked this today and it was breathtakingly gorgeous! We've had a lot of rain, so the trail was mushy in a lot of places. This trial crosses a creek numerous times, and that was a little challenging in places as the water is up, but overall, this trail is a two thumbs up for moderately fit hikers. The topography varies between climbs & descents frequently in either direction, the trail is well maintained, and the scenery is unsurpassed. From the first sight of Grandfather Mountain (I hiked the trail in reverse) to the sky-high poplars, thick rhododendron, and rushing waterfalls, this trail is extremely satisfying.

Directions to Hike
From the Charlotte area, go east on I-85 to Hwy. 321 North. Remain on 321 N through the town of Blowing Rock. Take the Blue Ridge Parkway south to Julian Price Park. The trailhead begins at the day-use area and is well-marked.
