Description
All the other linville gorge reviews rate some of the terrain as the most difficult east of the mississippi - I would agree. Once you get away from the river, the terrain becomes very difficult and it\'s hard to keep track of the trail (markers are small, bright streamers tied to trees) and the trail is littered with fallen trees and other debris.

For those of you planning to backpack this area - I suggest setting up a campsite and taking day hikes, as certain parts of trails are nearly impossible to negotiate with a fully laden pack.

Overall, it is a beautiful area that I recommend to any enthusiasts.
