Description
This is a rough trail,but if you like solitude it is for you.You follow the Linville River the whole way.A lot of people say this is the roughest country this side of the Rockies.There are a lot of diffrent day hikes in the same area.You will need a permit which is free to camp from May through October on weekends and holidays.

Directions to Hike
From Morganton take 181 north about 25 miles to 183 which is on the left.Gomaybe 5 miles and turn left at Linville Falls sign.Go to the 2nd parking lot which is the pine gap trail which turns into the Linville Gorge Trail.
