Description
Strenuous 3500' altitude gain in 5 miles by rushing Pine Creek (many small waterfalls)to wildflower meadows and good fishing in lake. Cold emerald lake in bowl at 9000' surrounded by peaks with old snow patches. We went first week in August. Good trail but rocky and steep. Hiking staff or poles reccommended and be prepared for sudden weather change. Day hike or overnight backpack. First mile to Pine Creek Falls moderate and well traveled.
