Description
I hiked from Castle Danger to the first camp site past Goosberry Falls State Park (about 3 miles down the trail).

The trail was beautiful, and quite rugged in places. This section of the trail is on top and on the back side of the first ridge of hills on the North Shore of Lake Superior. The trail itself is a footpath about 12-18 inches wide that winds through the forest, over streams (crossed by split log bridges) and along the Gooseberry River. Water is available from the streams along the trail, and by the camp sites. The site I stayed at was very secluded and off the trail a piece. Beautiful scenery, and nice facilities Gooseberry. The trail is also very well marked. If you are up in this neck of the woods, make sure to hike at least one portion of the Superior Hiking Trail. It streaches from Two harbors north to the Canadian Border.

Directions to Hike
North of Duluth Minnesota off of highway 61.
