Description
The hike started from the trailhead which is a stones throw from a min highway. Large majestic oaks and hickory trees suround you for the first three miles. Your first encounter will be the wonderfuul chapel falls (one mile from trailhead). After another mile of deep woods you can start to feel the air get colder as you get closer to lake superior. When you finally reach the water front you are greeted by chapel rock and the surrounding beach. Tou can see the steep rock cliffs of picture rock from here. As you continue your hike along the beachside trail you will start to raise in elevatipon until you are about 200 feet above sea level. the view from on top the rocks is great. Along this two mile stretch you walk along the cliffs ancountering lots of different rock structures and beatifully eroded rock. Lake Superior is wonderful. This is a grest place to have a picinic with that special person (aawwhh). After you have hiked the total length of the cliffs you desend back into the deep forest crossing awsome rivers and lots of wildlife. The trail eventually leads you back to the trailhead that you started from. If you take your time and take in all the scenery you can do the hike in about 7-8 hours. Its a great day hike.

Directions to Hike
Take 75 across Mackinaw Bridge go west on 2 unil you hit 77 and go north to 28 and go west. Tke that highway to The town of Munising and go to the DNR office to get trail maps. It is located right next to the State Police post just east of downtown
