Description
This is arguably one of the most scenic trails in Michigan. Fall is definitely the best season to hike this trail. Many scenic overlook campsites and numerous wading opportunities for fishing. A challenging trail that traverses a multitude of terrain, including narrow root filled ridges, dramatic drop-offs gilding clay bank overlooks and cardio pumping ups and downs make for a varied and exciting experience. Enjoy, and stop often, as patient hikers will get to experience Bald Eagles and spring wildflowers in a rainbow of colors. The birdsong and burble of the river literally harken you back to a time long lost.....a refresher for the soul and body! Careful if you fish and wade....the current is swift and the depth of the river can change rapidly. (I didn't fall in ;-))

Directions to Hike
26 road, north of M55, west off M37...follow the signs...
