LEAVES THE C&O CANAL TOW PATH AT THE GREAT FALLS INN.PATH IS EASY TO FOLLOW, OPEN FOREST WITH MATURE OAKS, HICKORY AND OTHER HARD WOOD, ANIMALS AGLORE, MODERATE TERRAIN, WALK PAST THE ONLY GOLD MINE OPERATED IN MARYLAND. EXTEND THE HIKE TO "ANGLERS INN" ALONG THE POTOMIC WHERE MANY KAYAKERS PUT IN DOWN STREAM OF THE FALLS. THE RETURN TRIP TAKES YOU ON THE C&O TOW PATH ALONG THE POTOMIC RIVER AND THE GREAT FALLS AREA. MUSEUM,INFORMATION BOOTH AND REFRESHMENT STAND ARE ADDED ATTRACTIONS AND ADD COMFORT AFTER A GOOD DAYS WALK.PARK IS OPEN ALL YEAR AROUND. OTHER ACTIVIES AT BOOSTS ARE BIKING,BIRD WATCHING,CAMPING, BOAT LAUNCH, ROCKCLIMBING,RAFTING, FISHING, HIKING, BACKPACKING, PICNICING.A VALUBLE HISTORY LESSEN OF THE C&O CANAL IS DISPLAYED IN THE MUSEUM.

Directions to Hike
EXIT I495 (NEAR THE NORTHWEST CORNER) ONTO CLARA BARTON PARKWAY. A QUITE DRIVE TAKES YOU THROUGH POTOMIC MARYLAND AND ONTO THE FALLS. WELL MARKED ROAD SIGHS DIRECT YOU THE 15 OR 20 MINUTES IT TAKES TO GET THERE AFTER LEAVING THE INTERSTATE. THERE IS A ENTRANCE FEE OF $4.00 CHARGE PER CAR LOAD. THE PARK IS OPEN YEAR AROUNDN.
