Description
The LBL North/South Trail is 65 miles in length. There atre several access points for shorter day hikes or overnights. Pisgah to Higgins is a forested trail with excellent vistas of Kentucky Lake and plenty of lakeside hiking. This is a moderate to difficult hike due to frequent changes in elevation. there is a primitive shelter shortly after the beginning of this section and one at the end between Higgins Bay and Rhodes Bay. Water is plentiful with the use of a purifier.

Directions to Hike
From ST.Louis take I24 to the Grand Rivers, KY exit. From Evansville, IN take THe Pennyrile Parkway to the Western Kentucky Parkway to I24 and exit at Grand Rivers. From Louisville take I65 to the Western Kentucky parkway to I24 to the Grand Rivers exit. From Nashville take I 24 to the Grand Rivers, KY exit. From Grand Rivers drive down the trace to the LBL north welcome station and pick up a map. Then continue south until you come to the Old Ferry Road. The trail entrance is well marked and you can park here as well.
