Description
Park at Connector trailhead in Two Lake Loop Trail in Hoosier National Forest proceed south picking up American Discovery Trail (ADT). The ADT uses local roads to reach Tipsaw Lake area. All the roads are gravel or dirt except for 1/2 paved road. I did the 7 mile loop at Tipsaw lake and returned by the ADT to Two lakes loop. Backpacking allowed in Two lakes loop and the area right around the Tipsaw lake rec area. Campgrounds also available at both locations but pricey start at $12. Beautiful country between these two rec areas only saw one car each way. The old roads the ADT uses going out of Two Lakes and Tipsaw are abandoned and overgrown. I did this trip in April 2003, encountered lots of ticks. By using the ADT I was able to add about 12 miles of hiking to the Two Lake Loop. The campgrounds at both locations had water and pay telephones.

Directions to Hike
Take I-64 west from Louisville, KY to highway 37 south. About 2 miles south on 37 the entrance to Two Lakes will be on the right. It has on the sign Celina Lake and Indian Lake. The ADT uses the south part of the trail that goes around both lakes.

Contact Information
Both the Two lakes and Tipsaw are under the Hoosier National Forest Office at
248 15th Street
Tell City, IN 47586
