Description
This is a backcountry trail in
Fort Mountain State park. The trail goes around the parimeter of the state park at some points leaving the state park bounderies. There are 4 strategically place backcountry campsites that are only reachable by trail. It is a moderate to strenuous loop trail. It is best hiked counterclockwise. All and all it is a decent trail, there are many steep inclines. My favorite part of the trail was a section that ran parallel to a steep cliff for at least a mile, offering a majestic view of the surrounding mountains. Although it is a good trail it still offered very little view.

Directions to Hike
Take HWY 411 north from Canton until you reach junction 52. Turn right at junction 52 and continue until you see Fort Mountain State park on the left. Turn there
