Description
This trail skirts the peimeter of Torreya State Park. The park features high bluffs, deep ravines and unusual vegetation for the state of Florida. The torreya, or Florida yew, is the largest bigleaf magnolia found in the United States and is only found in this park in Florida.
There are two primitive camping areas, River Bluff and Rock Creek.
This park reminds me more like the Appalachians than tropical Florida. Many of the same plants found farther north are found here. This is a great shakedown hike for new gear and new backpackers.

Directions to Hike
Take State Road 12 to State Road 270 or 270A between Bristol and Greensboro. Park in front of the Gregory House parking lot. Access to the loop trail begins at the South end of the Gregory House on a short path blazed in blue. The loop trail is blazed in white.
