Description
Great moderate day hike in the woods. First part of trail follows a stream (great for letting the dog run around in). Trail then heads over a few small hills and past many 50-100 ft bluffs (sometimes you are on top and sometimes looking up at them). After 4-6 miles, the trail comes to Lake Wyassup. Great place for lunch and some swimming. Turn around and head back from here.

Directions to Hike
Exit 92 off I-95. Take 49 North into Voluntown. After 10-15 minutes on 49, you will pass Lake Wyassup Rd. on left. Look for Pendleton Hill Church (white with large steeple) on left. Park here and continue north on 49 by foot noticing now the blue blazes on the west side of the road. Trail heads off 49 on first road on west side (Johnson Rd.). Once on Johnson, take dirt road into the woods and watch for blue blazes to turn right. Note that while hiking the Narrangansett Trail, you will cross this road again, so if you hate doing too much back tracking, like me, on your way back from Lake Wyassup just head east the first time you get to this road and you can head back to Johnson Rd. a different way.
