Description
Good overnight backpack. Trail is 6.2 miles one way, gains 2400 vertical feet and is uniform and well maintained by your tax dollers. Destination is the tent sites at Lawn Lake, complete with actual tent pads for a reasonably level and smooth sleeping surface. There is catch-and-release fishing for Greenback Cutthroat trout in the lake and feeder streams, hiking to nearby peaks and saddles, wildlife and flower viewing. (Watch out for food stealing chipmunks and marmots!) The small rain ponds were ice covered each morning (early July) and storms came through each afternoon. You know you're up high!

Directions to Hike
