Description
This is a great hike. If your a lowlander like me you probably want to take it easy as it is a pretty good increase in altitude from the trail head to Blue Lake. I have been here twice and have had mild altitude sickness both times. There are many beautiful lakes further down the trail from Blue Lake. Watch the regulations closely as they have become more restrictive the past couple of years. Make sure you camp the proper distance from the lakes and trail. A hard hike but well worth the effort. The Rawah peaks are a great scramble for a great view of Medicine Bow Range.

Directions to Hike
Take I-25 north from denver to Ft. Collins. Take the Hwy 14 exit at Ft. Collins and travel west for 4 mi. Take a right and go north on hwy 287 out of town (14 will follow 287 for some time so don't be alarmed!) until you see a sign for 14 in a spec of a town called Ted's place. You'll turn right and enter the Poudre river canyon. Follow 14 up the canyon twards Cameron pass for 60 mi or so and just past chambers lake you will see a sign on the right for the Blue Lake trailhead. Pull over, park, and head up the trail.
