Description
This is an easy hike with average elevation gain of 5%, 8% max. Elevation is 10266 to 10719 feet. Waypoint location at good campsite: N40.08245-W107.25151. We camped before the lake and hiked about a mile over a ridge to fish. Trail head located at N40.10579-W107.29582, 10299 ft. Trail crosses several small streams and plenty of water in the area. Campsite close to recent burn area but not objectionable. Many wildflowers, birds, etc. Saw no large animals, other than cows. Trail in very good condition. Very few other hikers sighted here. A nice side trip is to the Lilly Pond. Large pond covered with lillies. Well worth the 1.5 mile hike. We were happy that we did not camp near the lake. Sites not too desirable.

Directions to Hike
We arrived from the Meeker end of the road leading into the area. Trailhead is about 50 miles from Meeker on a well maintained road. Head for Ripple Creek Pass. From the west, the trail head is located on the right hand side of the road before you get to the pass. Large parking area.
