Description
Up hill trail that is also used as a 4x4 trail by those dareing drivers. Lots of switch backs. Once over the tree line there is a spectacular view of the whole valley below and all the surrounding mountains. sights such as natural springs, glaciers and assorted wildlife including bear, big horn sheep and the occasional pika. Dont forget your camera on this hike, it truely is breath takeing. Starting elevation is 9,000 feet ending is between 12,500 and 13,000 feet.

Directions to Hike
Travle south from Walsenburg, Co to La Veta and on to Cuchara. Follow the sighns to Blue and Bear Lake's and campgrounds. The trail head is marked just above Blue lake.
